In the midst of movement and chaos, keep stillness inside of you.

There is always one moment in childhood when the door opens and lets the future in.

The way you think, the way you behave, the way you eat, can influence your life by 30 to 50 years.

Whatever relationships you have attracted in your life at this moment, are precisely the ones you need in your life at this moment. There is a hidden meaning behind all events, and this hidden meaning is serving your own evolution.

The secret of attraction is to love yourself. Attractive people judge neither themselves nor others. They are open to gestures of love. They think about love, and express their love in every action. They know that love is not a mere sentiment, but the ultimate truth at the heart of the universe.

Life

Birth: Deepak Chopra was born on October 22, 1946 to Dr. (Col) K. L. Chopra in New Delhi, India.

Realization: Having graduated from AIIMS in 1969, He emigrated to the U.S. in 1970, to do his clinical internship at a New Jersey hospital, followed by residency training for several more years at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Massachusetts and at the University of Virginia Hospital. He became board-certified in internal medicine and endocrinology.
He left traditional medicine behind in 1981 when Triguna (His Co-Writer) convinced him that if he didn’t make a change he’d get heart disease. Shortly after that he got involved in Transcendental Meditation. In 1984 Chopra met the Maharishi himself and in 1985 Chopra became director of the Maharishi Ayurveda Health Center for Stress Management in Lancaster, Massachusetts. He reveals what attracted him to Transcendental Meditation: “it helped him overcome his dependence on alcohol, tobacco and coffee.” He has emerged as one of the world’s leading proponents of this innovative combination of Eastern and Western healing.

Death: Alive.

Teaching Style: Chopra spread his teachings  in various ways but, mainly  he spends much of his time writing and lecturing. He  has written more than 40 books. They range broadly across spiritual and health topics. He lectures around the world making presentations to major corporations and organizations such as the World Health Organization in Geneva, the United Nations, and London’s Royal Society of Medicine, as well as a number of major U.S. medical institutions.

Fame: Chopra created a paradigm for exploring the healing process – a model he calls Quantum Healing. Quantum Healing looks past all the wonder drugs and modern technology to a natural way of healing which speaks to an integration of mind and body. Chopra combines ancient mind/body wisdom with current anti-aging research to show that the effects of aging are largely preventable. He has written extensively on spirituality and diverse topics in mind-bod y medicine. In 1998, Chopra was awarded the satirical Ig Nobel Prize in physics for “his unique interpretation of quantum physics as it applies to life, liberty, and the pursuit of economic happiness. He launched himself as a staunch advocate of the interconnection between mind and body, advocating meditation and self-awareness as primary factors in both illness and healing. He introduced quantum physics as a means of understanding the mind-body connection, arguing  that consciousness is the basic foundation of nature and the universe.

Legacy: He has been influenced by the teachings of Vedanta and the Bhagavad Gita , as well as by Jiddu Krishnamurthy and by the field of quantum physics. By successfully combining his impeccable credentials as a practicing endocrinologist with his exploration of mind/body medicine he has dramatically influenced many in traditional medical circles and helped bring the enormous benefits of holistic medicine to the general public’s attention.

Teachings

Chopra offered the proposal that a person’s awareness in the present shapes existence after death; that is, the afterlife is created uniquely for each of us by our present level of consciousness.

Chopra emphasizes that People don’t die of old age, they die of diseases that accompany old age, and they are preventable. There are mechanisms even in the human machinery that allow for the reversal of aging, through correction of diet, through anti-oxidants, through removal of toxins from the body, through exercise, through yoga and breathing techniques, and through meditation.

Chopra sees God as a projection of human awareness, who becomes more expansive and universal as individual consciousness expands.

He claims that allergies are usually caused by poor digestion. He claims you can prevent and reverse cataracts by brushing your teeth, scraping your tongue, spitting into a cup of water, and washing your eyes for a few minutes with this mixture

According to Chopra,  “We are each a localized field of energy and information with cybernetic feedback loops interacting within a nonlocal field of energy and information.”

He says that “simply by localizing your awareness on a source of pain, you can cause healing to begin, for the body naturally sends healing energy wherever attention is drawn.”

Most people would be better off if they followed some of the sensible recommendations of the “alternatives”: eat less and don’t stuff yourself with fatty and sugary foods with near zero nutritional value, relax, don’t smoke or drink or use other drugs to try to make you feel better, don’t take things so seriously, treat other people kindly and with respect, spend more time with friends and family building relationships, quit worrying about being so successful and rich or famous, be concerned about what you put into your body and what all of us are putting into our air and water.

He also told that If you have happy thoughts, then you make happy molecules.
